sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: It can mean the act of burning an offering, or a burn as an injury. "Burning for burning" is a rule of the law about injuries. Later books use it for the fire of God's holiness, "everlasting burnings", and for a burning made at a king's death in honor of him. Interpretation: The rabbis read "burning for burning, wound for wound" as meaning that the harmer pays money for the harm, not that the same injury is done back to him. Isaiah's "everlasting burnings" is read as the holiness of God, which only the upright can stand near. In the primary lessons: In science: burning (combustion) needs fuel, oxygen and heat — the fire triangle; burning is an irreversible change (you can't get the wood back); burning fuel releases carbon dioxide. In safety: if you smell burning, tell an adult; get out of a burning building, stay low under smoke, don't go back in; stop, drop and roll if your clothes catch fire; cool a burn under cold running water for 20 minutes. Phrases: burning smell, burning hot, burning question, burning sensation, candle burning, burning down.
