sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: Grapes are one of the fruits of the Land of Israel. A Nazirite, who takes a special vow of holiness, must avoid everything from the grapevine. Interpretation: Wine from grapes is used for Kiddush on Shabbat and festivals. The rabbis taught that the Nazirite avoids grapes to stay far from wine and its temptations. In the primary lessons: In food and health, grapes are a healthy snack; in safety, whole grapes are a choking danger for small children, so cut them lengthways into quarters for toddlers. Grapes are poisonous to dogs, so never feed them to pets. In science, grapes grow on climbing plants called vines; dried grapes are raisins, sultanas and currants. Grapes are made into juice and wine. In stories, Aesop's fable «The Fox and the Grapes» gives the phrase «sour grapes» (pretending you didn't want what you couldn't get).

note
