sense in the lessons
In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: It means a loud public announcement, such as the horn blown on the day of atonement or Aaron's call before the calf. In the Prophets and Writings it is also a message sent out by God or a king, as Jonah to Nineveh or the call to gather in Jerusalem. Interpretation: The horn blast on Yom Kippur in the Jubilee year proclaimed freedom throughout the land. Jonah's proclamation is read as a call to repent, which Nineveh heeded. In the primary lessons: In history lessons: royal proclamations, the Emancipation Proclamation (1863) by Abraham Lincoln, and the Proclamation of the Irish Republic (1916). In stories, a herald reads out the king's proclamation in the town square.
