sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: The Sabbath, or Shabbat, is the seventh day, a holy day of rest that God commanded Israel to keep. No work is done on it. Interpretation: Jewish tradition keeps Shabbat from Friday sunset to Saturday night. It lights candles, says Kiddush over wine, eats festive meals and avoids work, remembering both creation and the Exodus. In the primary lessons: In the Bible, God rests on the seventh day of creation, and the fourth commandment says "Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy". Jewish families light candles on Friday night and share a meal (Shabbat). Some Christians, like Seventh-day Adventists, keep Saturday. Bible stories show Jesus healing on the Sabbath and arguing about what rest means. Phrases: keep the Sabbath, on the Sabbath, Sabbath rest, break the Sabbath.
