Elamur API and Token Terms — working draft

Version: 2026-10-15 · English draft · not yet reviewed by a lawyer

1. What Elamur sells

Elamur sells exactly two things: access to the hosted Elamur API and tokens that pay for it. Everything else is free: the source code of mova-free and other open Elamur repositories is under the Elamur Cosmic License (ELAMUR-COSMIC-LICENSE.md) — everything allowed, except Big Brother. Open data keeps its source licenses.

(Mova Extended and the turnover-based licensing tier are postponed.)

2. Who may use the API

Anyone who accepts these Terms and holds a valid key — individuals, students, researchers, companies, public bodies — except the prohibited users and uses in §3.

3. Prohibited users and uses

The API and tokens may not be used by, or on behalf of, the institutional users designated in Annex A — Elamur Cosmic License and Elamur API Terms, nor for the prohibited uses described in Not a Big Brother: mass political surveillance, identification of people for punishment because of speech or association, automated censorship, dissident detection, or making political repression cheaper, faster or more scalable.

Nationality and residence are not prohibited characteristics.

4. Enforcement

Elamur may refuse, suspend or revoke any key at its discretion, including on reasonable belief of a violation of §3. A party that violates §3 is added to Elamur's blacklist and receives no new keys, tokens, contracts or services. Elamur does not need a court finding to decline to provide its service.

5. Tokens

Tokens are prepaid units of API usage. Pricing, expiry and refunds: to be defined.

6. No warranty

The API is provided "as is". Answers are explained but not guaranteed; liability is limited to the amount paid for tokens in the preceding 12 months. To be reviewed by a lawyer.
