sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: Often means powerful or mighty, as in "a strong hand" for an army or for God's power. "Strong drink" means wine or other alcohol. In the Prophets and Writings it is also said of strong men and of the strong arms of the capable woman of Proverbs. Interpretation: "Strong hand" is a phrase used for God's rescue of Israel from Egypt. Jewish law forbids priests to drink strong drink when they serve. The woman of valor in Proverbs, who makes her arms strong, is read by tradition as a picture of the wise and hard-working home-builder, and sung on Friday nights. In the primary lessons: In science, strong materials don't break easily; exercise makes muscles strong; strong winds are dangerous. In safety: strong chemicals and strong currents can harm you. Phrases: strong point, going strong, strong-willed, as strong as an ox.
