Psalms 10743 verses, each with its tree and pragmatics: Hebrew, Aramaic (the Targum) and English (JPS 1917), the English sentence by sentence.107:1הֹדוּ לַיהוָה כִּי־טוֹב כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹ׃BOOK V 'O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.'107:2יֹאמְרוּ גְּאוּלֵי יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר גְּאָלָם מִיַּד־צָֽר׃So let the redeemed of the LORD say, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the adversary;107:3וּֽמֵאֲרָצוֹת קִבְּצָם מִמִּזְרָח וּמִֽמַּעֲרָב מִצָּפוֹן וּמִיָּֽם׃And gathered them out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea.107:4תָּעוּ בַמִּדְבָּר בִּישִׁימוֹן דָּרֶךְ עִיר מוֹשָׁב לֹא מָצָֽאוּ׃They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way; they found no city of habitation.107:5רְעֵבִים גַּם־צְמֵאִים נַפְשָׁם בָּהֶם תִּתְעַטָּֽף׃Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.107:6וַיִּצְעֲקוּ אֶל־יְהוָה בַּצַּר לָהֶם מִמְּצֽוּקוֹתֵיהֶם יַצִּילֵֽם׃Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses.107:7וַיַּֽדְרִיכֵם בְּדֶרֶךְ יְשָׁרָה לָלֶכֶת אֶל־עִיר מוֹשָֽׁב׃And He led them by a straight way, that they might go to a city of habitation.107:8יוֹדוּ לַיהוָה חַסְדּוֹ וְנִפְלְאוֹתָיו לִבְנֵי אָדָֽם׃Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!107:9כִּי־הִשְׂבִּיעַ נֶפֶשׁ שֹׁקֵקָה וְנֶפֶשׁ רְעֵבָה מִלֵּא־טֽוֹב׃For He hath satisfied the longing soul, and the hungry soul He hath filled with good.107:10יֹשְׁבֵי חֹשֶׁךְ וְצַלְמָוֶת אֲסִירֵי עֳנִי וּבַרְזֶֽל׃Such as sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron —107:11כִּֽי־הִמְרוּ אִמְרֵי־אֵל וַעֲצַת עֶלְיוֹן נָאָֽצוּ׃Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the Most High.107:12וַיַּכְנַע בֶּעָמָל לִבָּם כָּשְׁלוּ וְאֵין עֹזֵֽר׃Therefore He humbled their heart with travail, they stumbled, and there was none to help —107:13וַיִּזְעֲקוּ אֶל־יְהוָה בַּצַּר לָהֶם מִמְּצֻֽקוֹתֵיהֶם יוֹשִׁיעֵֽם׃They cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses.107:14יֽוֹצִיאֵם מֵחֹשֶׁךְ וְצַלְמָוֶת וּמוֹסְרוֹתֵיהֶם יְנַתֵּֽק׃He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in sunder.107:15יוֹדוּ לַיהוָה חַסְדּוֹ וְנִפְלְאוֹתָיו לִבְנֵי אָדָֽם׃Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!107:16כִּֽי־שִׁבַּר דַּלְתוֹת נְחֹשֶׁת וּבְרִיחֵי בַרְזֶל גִּדֵּֽעַ׃For He hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.107:17אֱוִלִים מִדֶּרֶךְ פִּשְׁעָם וּֽמֵעֲוֺֽנֹתֵיהֶם יִתְעַנּֽוּ׃Crazed because of the way of their transgression, and afflicted because of their iniquities —107:18כָּל־אֹכֶל תְּתַעֵב נַפְשָׁם וַיַּגִּיעוּ עַד־שַׁעֲרֵי מָֽוֶת׃Their soul abhorred all manner of food, and they drew near unto the gates of death —107:19וַיִּזְעֲקוּ אֶל־יְהוָה בַּצַּר לָהֶם מִמְּצֻֽקוֹתֵיהֶם יוֹשִׁיעֵֽם׃They cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses;107:20יִשְׁלַח דְּבָרוֹ וְיִרְפָּאֵם וִֽימַלֵּט מִשְּׁחִיתוֹתָֽם׃He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their graves.107:21יוֹדוּ לַיהוָה חַסְדּוֹ וְנִפְלְאוֹתָיו לִבְנֵי אָדָֽם׃Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!107:22וְיִזְבְּחוּ זִבְחֵי תוֹדָה וִֽיסַפְּרוּ מַעֲשָׂיו בְּרִנָּֽה׃And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with singing.107:23יוֹרְדֵי הַיָּם בָּאֳנִיּוֹת עֹשֵׂי מְלָאכָה בְּמַיִם רַבִּֽים׃They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters —107:24הֵמָּה רָאוּ מַעֲשֵׂי יְהוָה וְנִפְלְאוֹתָיו בִּמְצוּלָֽה׃These saw the works of the LORD, and His wonders in the deep;107:25וַיֹּאמֶר וַֽיַּעֲמֵד רוּחַ סְעָרָה וַתְּרוֹמֵם גַּלָּֽיו׃For He commanded, and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves thereof;107:26יַעֲלוּ שָׁמַיִם יֵרְדוּ תְהוֹמוֹת נַפְשָׁם בְּרָעָה תִתְמוֹגָֽג׃They mounted up to the heaven, they went down to the deeps; their soul melted away because of trouble;107:27יָחוֹגּוּ וְיָנוּעוּ כַּשִּׁכּוֹר וְכָל־חָכְמָתָם תִּתְבַּלָּֽע׃They reeled to and fro, and staggered like a drunken man, and all their wisdom was swallowed up —107:28וַיִּצְעֲקוּ אֶל־יְהוָה בַּצַּר לָהֶם וּֽמִמְּצֽוּקֹתֵיהֶם יוֹצִיאֵֽם׃They cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distresses.107:29יָקֵם סְעָרָה לִדְמָמָה וַיֶּחֱשׁוּ גַּלֵּיהֶֽם׃He made the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof were still.107:30וַיִּשְׂמְחוּ כִֽי־יִשְׁתֹּקוּ וַיַּנְחֵם אֶל־מְחוֹז חֶפְצָֽם׃Then were they glad because they were quiet, and He led them unto their desired haven.107:31יוֹדוּ לַיהוָה חַסְדּוֹ וְנִפְלְאוֹתָיו לִבְנֵי אָדָֽם׃Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!107:32וִֽירֹמְמוּהוּ בִּקְהַל־עָם וּבְמוֹשַׁב זְקֵנִים יְהַלְלֽוּהוּ׃Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people, and praise Him in the seat of the elders.107:33יָשֵׂם נְהָרוֹת לְמִדְבָּר וּמֹצָאֵי מַיִם לְצִמָּאֽוֹן׃He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and watersprings into a thirsty ground;107:34אֶרֶץ פְּרִי לִמְלֵחָה מֵרָעַת יֹשְׁבֵי בָֽהּ׃A fruitful land into a salt waste, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.107:35יָשֵׂם מִדְבָּר לַֽאֲגַם־מַיִם וְאֶרֶץ צִיָּה לְמֹצָאֵי מָֽיִם׃He turneth a wilderness into a pool of water, and a dry land into watersprings.107:36וַיּוֹשֶׁב שָׁם רְעֵבִים וַיְכוֹנְנוּ עִיר מוֹשָֽׁב׃And there He maketh the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city of habitation;107:37וַיִּזְרְעוּ שָׂדוֹת וַיִּטְּעוּ כְרָמִים וַיַּעֲשׂוּ פְּרִי תְבֽוּאָה׃And sow fields, and plant vineyards, which yield fruits of increase.107:38וַיְבָרֲכֵם וַיִּרְבּוּ מְאֹד וּבְהֶמְתָּם לֹא יַמְעִֽיט׃He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly, and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.107:39וַיִּמְעֲטוּ וַיָּשֹׁחוּ מֵעֹצֶר רָעָה וְיָגֽוֹן׃Again, they are minished and dwindle away through oppression of evil and sorrow.107:40שֹׁפֵךְ בּוּז עַל־נְדִיבִים וַיַּתְעֵם בְּתֹהוּ לֹא־דָֽרֶךְ׃He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the waste, where there is no way.107:41וַיְשַׂגֵּב אֶבְיוֹן מֵעוֹנִי וַיָּשֶׂם כַּצֹּאן מִשְׁפָּחֽוֹת׃Yet setteth He the needy on high from affliction, and maketh his families like a flock.107:42יִרְאוּ יְשָׁרִים וְיִשְׂמָחוּ וְכָל־עַוְלָה קָפְצָה פִּֽיהָ׃The upright see it, and are glad;
